Lefty Gunplay Reportedly Facing Assault Allegation Following Springfield Concert

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Rapper Lefty Gunplay performed Friday night at The Regency Live in downtown Springfield, where he was scheduled to appear as part of his Did This For Me Tour. The concert was scheduled for August 28 at the downtown venue, located at 307 Park Central East. 

Following the performance, reports began circulating on social media alleging that the rapper was involved in an altercation and could be facing a fourth-degree assault charge.

According to posts circulating in a local Facebook scanner community, Gunplay allegedly became involved in an incident involving a male concertgoer's girlfriend. The posts further allege that Gunplay had been drinking heavily and was behaving belligerently before the alleged confrontation.

Those claims have not been independently confirmed by law enforcement or court records at the time of publication. No official police statement or booking record confirming a Springfield arrest related to the alleged incident was located in the sources reviewed for this report.

Additional social-media reports have alleged that the incident involving the woman was one of multiple confrontations or incidents involving Gunplay throughout the night. Again, those allegations remain unverified.

The timing of the reports comes immediately after Gunplay's scheduled performance at The Regency Live. Multiple event listings confirm that the artist was booked at the Springfield venue Friday night, with doors listed for 8 p.m. and the show beginning at 9 p.m. 

Gunplay, whose legal name has been reported as Franklin Scott Holladay, has previously faced legal issues that have received national attention. In 2025, he was arrested in connection with a case in El Paso, Texas, although reporting later indicated those charges were dismissed in March 2026. 

The latest Springfield allegations, however, should be treated separately from those previous cases.

At this point, there is no verified information establishing that Gunplay was convicted of assault or that an arrest occurred in connection with Friday night's alleged incident. An allegation reported through social media is not proof of criminal conduct, and any potential charges would remain allegations unless established in court.
